Reduce Auto Insurance Costs with Teen Driving Programs

Hands on vehicle steering wheelThere are driving schools across the country that aim to help teenagers develop safe habits and skills.

Certain programs may help young drivers participating in them become eligible for more inexpensive auto insurance upon completion. However, these types of programs must be approved and recognized in order for people to receive discounts on their car insurance policy.

Teen driver safety programs are designed to help teenagers improve their driving skills. They also want to emphasize how important it is for young drivers to receive proper motor vehicle instruction and feel safer behind the wheel.

It’s imperative that young people receive proper driving instruction. Most 16-year-old soccer players have had 1,500 hours of coaching, but when it comes to driver training, 50 hours is the average, the Mid-Ohio school said. Proper safety skills are necessary, especially since statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that motor vehicle accidents cause 35 percent of teen deaths.

Taking approved and recognized driver safety classes is highly advised to not only help teenagers stay safe behind the wheel, but can also reduce auto insurance costs. Teens who earn good grades, usually a “B” average or higher may also be eligible for discounts.ADNFCR-3298-ID-19826013-ADNFCR
