Woman doing paperwork at tableProgressive Auto Insurance has been named one of the 50 best places for Latinas to work for by Latina Style magazine. The magazine based its rankings on employee benefits, leadership programs and the number of Latinas in senior management positions.

The car insurance company also has a Hispanic/Latino employee resource group, which helps aid in recruiting efforts and create an inclusive work environment.

Progressive’s Hispanic/Latino employee group chair Nestor Lopez notes that Progressive values employees for the unique qualities each one brings.

“At Progressive, we believe it’s important to have people with different backgrounds and experiences to bring new perspectives to business challenges,” said Lopez.

Having the ability to foster a positive work environment for Latinos as well as reaching out to the segment of the population for business may be important for a company’s success. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau show that the Hispanic population is rapidly growing in the country. It’s estimated that nearly a quarter of the U.S. population will be Hispanic by 2050.
