Ohio-Based Auto Insurance Co. to Support Memorial Tournament

Man golfingNationwide Insurance has signed a deal to become the presenting sponsor of the Memorial Tournament for the next six years. The car insurance company’s sponsorship of the golfing event will commence next year.

In the event’s 35-year history, this is the first time that a locally based company will be sponsoring the Memorial Tournament. Nationwide Insurance CEO Steve Rasmussen says he is looking forward to working with the tournament.

“Partnering with the Memorial allows us to support an event that draws the national spotlight to Central Ohio every year, while helping deserving local charities like Nationwide Children’s Hospital fulfill their mission,” said Rasmussen.

The golf tournament will be an addition to several other local events Nationwide supports. The car insurance company also sponsors other athletic teams and events. Earlier this year, the company announced their sponsorship of the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and teamed up with NASCAR to promote safe driving.
