Esurance has launched a new application for Windows Phone 7 with features that will enable the insurer to provide better service for its customers.

The new app allows phone users to obtain car insurance quotes online, in addition to providing consumers with policy and claims assistance at the tip of their fingers.

Esurance’s chief information officer, Phil Swift, says utilizing technology is a natural step for the auto insurance provider.

“Our new application for Windows Phone 7 is another step for us in providing innovative, easy-to-use products and services to our customers, and it builds on the success of our current mobile platform,” says Swift. “We see more and more consumers are relying on technology to meet their car insurance needs and we are working to stay ahead of that trend.”

Several other car insurers also have apps for smartphones. Allstate, Palisades and High Point auto insurance all have embraced the technology to better reach out to their clients.
