Car Insurance Co. Helps Bring Wheels to Those in Need

Cars parked on streetAllstate auto insurance and Sterling Auto body are donating 30 newly refurbished cars this winter. The duo is working in conjunction with the National Auto Body Council (NABC) to provide vehicles through the Recycle Rides program.

Allstate’s assistant vice president for auto claims, Bill Daly, says a car can be more than just a set of wheels for a family in need.

“Our participation in the Recycled Rides Program is an extension of Allstate’s commitment to our local communities,” says Daly. “These cars represent more than a way to get around, but a way to empower families and charities to accomplish simple tasks impossible without reliable transportation.”

The recycle program commenced in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and has become an ongoing effort to help people across the country. Before last Thanksgiving, the organization had already distributed 80 vehicles. This year, the program hopes to increase that number to 150.

The insurance company has engaged in other charitable causes. Earlier this year, Allstate made $5 donations to Road Guardians whenever free auto insurance quotes were generated through its Web site.
