Car Insurance Co. Donates Funds for Quotes

Motorcyclist rounding curveAllstate, provider of auto, home, life and retirement insurance will be donating $5 to the Road Guardians for every online insurance quote they give to motorcycle riders from now until the end of the year.

“I believe Allstate’s coverage for cyclists is the best there is. But, we know that regardless of insurance coverage, a rider has to take personal steps to ensure safety on the road,” said Chuck Paul, vice president of emerging business for the car insurance company. “Anyone who gets a quote for their bike through Allstate is helping their fellow riders stay safe at the same time.”

The Road Guardians is an organization that helps educate motorcycle riders on how to properly handle their bikes on the streets. Road Guardians president Vicki Sanfelipo says the funds raised with Allstate’s efforts will help support life-saving programs.

“The funding from Allstate will be used to help train and educate road riders to be there for their fellow cyclists when they need it most,” says Sanfelipo. “We’re working with Allstate to help save lives by offering on-the-road training to help prevent and respond to crashes.”

The U.S. Department of Transportation says more than 7.1 million motorcycles took to the roads in 2007. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that motorcycle riders are 16 times more likely to be killed in an accident than occupants of other motor vehicles.
