driver on motorcycleProgressive Auto Insurance has recently been named the title sponsor of the International Motorcycle Shows (IMS).

In collaboration with Advanstar Communications, the auto insurance company aims to bring new life to the 30-year-old event.

The tour will be decked out with a new Progressive Lounge for fans, along with gifts, prizes and entertainment. The custom bike competition, along with new bikes and scooters, will also be on display.

Advanstar’s powersports group vice president and general manager Tracy Harris says the common values between her company and Progressive Insurance make them a strong team.

“IMS and Progressive are committed to service, integrity and value,” said Harris. “These common values have made for a powerful partnership over Progressive’s many years with the shows.”

The motorcycle show kicks off its 11-city tour Nov. 12 in Dallas, Texas.

Progressive could see large gains from the multi-year partnership. Research from automotive information company Polk indicates that IMS attendees are nine times more likely to purchase a motorcycle.
