Allstate App Allows Customers to File Auto Insurance Claims, Pay Bills

Black apple iPhoneAnyone who has ever been in an auto accident knows how stressful the situation can be. Now, thanks to a new tool for Allstate customers, drivers involved in an accident can begin the claims process immediately through a new smartphone app.

The accident toolkit feature of the app walks users through a checklist to help ensure that all proper steps are taken, including getting witness information and taking pictures of the damage.

The Allstate mobile application for the iPhone and Blackberry also allows customers to view their account and policy details whenever they want. Customers can also benefit from a feature that allows payments to be made in real time.

“Allstate wants to make it easy to do business with us,” says Allstate vice president of eBusiness Bob Wasserman. “We’re committed to delivering products, services and tools that customers value by extending the protection Allstate offers to new places in new ways. Allstate Mobile is an important step toward these goals.”

This app is more likely to come in handy than some may think. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were more than 5.7 million reported accidents in 2008.
