Allstate Auto Insurance and Jonas Brothers Team Up

The Jonas BrothersAllstate auto insurance is teaming up with the Jonas Brothers on their “Road Dogs” softball tour this summer to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving.

During the teen band’s 12-city tour, the group will encourage fans to support Allstate’s “X the TXT” campaign and sign a pledge against texting behind the wheel. Band member Kevin Jonas says that taking a stand against the dangerous practice of distracted driving is an important cause.

This campaign is just one way the car insurance company is trying to reach teens with safe driving messages. Allstate Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations Joan Walker notes that distracted driving can make motorists more susceptible to accidents.

“If you text while driving, you are 23 times more likely to crash. Our young drivers are especially susceptible to this risk due to the pressure to stay in constant contact with friends,” said Walker. “By encouraging teens to change this dangerous behavior, Allstate hopes to save young people’s lives.”

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drivers under the age of 20 are more likely than any other age group to get into a fatal car accident related to distracted driving. This is one reason why cheap auto insurance for young drivers is often so hard to obtain.
